"0phthalmology Appointments"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

Received a letter on May 6th inviting me to telephone within the next 14 days to make an appointment. Telephoned today, May 9th. Put on hold to start with and then the person I spoke to had difficulty trying to get me two appointments on the same day. This is necessary as I need a field vision test and then have to see the glaucoma nurse. I was on the telephone for 17 minutes and my appointment? June 27th. My vision is very important to me. Good job I didn't wait any longer to make an appointment.

Thank you, Linda, for taking the time to give us feedback about your experience of our appointment booking service. We are sorry it took longer than we would hope for us to arrange your appointments.

If patients need two separate appointments with different teams relating to the same condition, we always do our very best to arrange them for the same day to avoid an additional visit to hospital. This does mean, however, that the booking team have to liaise with two separate departments, each with their own clinic lists, to find a date and time suitable for both.

We have shared your comments with the teams responsible for ophthalmology and outpatient booking.
