"Parents of an inpatient discharged in February..."

Our daughter was an inpatient in Mill Lodge on two occasions spanning 7 months ending in February 2016.

The staff did an excellent job caring for our daughter during what was a very difficult time for use all.

As a parent with an inpatient it can be very daunting and frustrating and it feels that you are a little distant from your child's care and treatment.

This is due to the first priority of the staff been to the child.

We attended all of the care meetings and family therapy sessions which helped us in understanding our daughters internal challenges.

This helped us to make small adjustments to our family life which had a big positive impact for our daughter after her discharge.

While an inpatient our daughter had mixed feeling about her stay but looking back she believes it was the best place for her.

Now three months on she has been inspired to help others with metal health issues and will be running the Jane Tomlinson 10K this coming August raising money for York Mind.
