I am of Iranian origin. I speak Farsi. It has has been very hard to speak to Drs at Guernsey house. At first they got an interpreter for me. which was good. but after that they stopped interpreters coming to help translate for me. I find it very hard. At one time i just stoopped going to Guernsey because its very humiliating and not having any staff in the building who can speak my language and is availble all the time to help me convey my needs. As a result i cannot benefit from the duty system, becoz the person cannot understand what i saying. then i just end up dropping out. It is a very beneficial service but it is not sensitive to non English speakers. If you can have representative staff say on a particular day of the week it will be useful for people like me.
