"my experience"

About: St Richard's Hospital

ive just been a patient in st Richard's amu for 4 days

I liked the side room but unfortunately the staff's communication with me wasn't that good-I have complex communication needs

the bed wasn't electrically operated to allow me to sit up

also the staff kept pestering me about meals/drinks even though id been horrendously sick

if I ever end up in st Richard's again I would hope not to go to that ward as the staff are too busy to give me the 1-1 attention I need

Dear Jon, thank you for taking the time to give this feedback.

We think you mean the Emergency Floor, which used to be called Acute Medicine Unit.

This is a very busy ward indeed and we are very sorry that you felt your needs were not catered for adequately.

If there is anything we can do in the future to make staff aware of your particular communication needs, please do let us know.

You can contact us via our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) on 01243 831822 if you would like to discuss this further.

As we don't have your contact details as your post is essentially anonymous, we are unable to investigate this further at the moment but please do get in touch if you would like us to do this.
