I attended the Royal Hospital for a colonoscopy investigation as part of the bowel screening programme. By the very nature of the investigation I was a bit apprehensive, but the nurses and doctor I came into contact with before during and after the investigation were amazing. They treated me with the utmost kindness dignity and warmth whilst also doing a professional job. I was given the choice of a mild sedation, which I declined, I am glad I did as I didn't need it, the procedure was painless and stress free.
The next day I received a telephone call from a nurse, to check on how I was (no problems).
They told me that they would ring me the following week with results from the biopsy.
The overall experiance makes me so proud of our Health Service and in particular the staff I came into contact with at The Royal Hospital. Long live our N.H.S...
"What a great service.!"
