"Delay in operation for Carple Tunnel Syndrome at North Hampshire"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

(as the patient),

I saw a specialist at Winchester Hospital who said he would operate on me for carple tunnel syndrome. I was then telephoned with an appointment to have the operation. When I got to Winchester Hospital they said they weren't doing it but it was a consultation again. I was then offered an appointment at Andover Hospital. I was asked to ring to confirm that the appt was okay. I was put through to eight different departments including the Hospital Electrician and the Urology Department and then when I finally got through they said I didn't need to ring. I was told that Sister Knowles of Andover would ring me on my mobile on Tuesday. she in f act rang on my home number as my mobile number wasn't given to her. A message was then left on my answering machine at home which was only picked up because my husband happened to be at home. When I rang I was informed that the operation was cancelled. I have made so many arrangements for this including visits to Doctors, and getting forms filled in at short notice. It is absolutely ridiculous to do this after all I have been through with your Hospital. It is a whole day's job to get through to them on the phone as they will not answer calls and then when you hang up to try again the number is engaged. I am coming to the conclusion that they just do not want people to have treatment and are saving money by doing this. The forms which they have sent to me three times say that it needs to be done quickly or it will get worse. What am I supposed to do.
