"It was a waste of time"

About: Monklands District General Hospital / General Psychiatry

(as the patient),

I had a consultation and I was extremely disappointed with the service. At first I was offered support of a CPN and a further appointment which I agreed to. After the doctors had discussed my case offer of help was withdrawn and was discharged back to the GP on an antidepressant. I had gone to psychiatry in order to help me get better in order to return to work quicker. It was a waste of time. I felt worse at the end of the consultation than I did at the start.

I would like to thank you for sharing your experience and I am really dismayed to hear that your consultation appeared to have such a negative outcome for you. In order to help me look into this further I would appreciate it if you could either call me at my office -01236707162 or e-mail me the details of your experience at patricia.rhodie@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

I look forward to hearing from you and apologise for any distress caused as a result of this.
