"9 wks for an appointment not to be listened to!!!"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Terrible experience!! Took my son to see a peditrician today after waiting 9 wks for an appointment??. When we went in the consultant had read my sons referral letter and only spoke of that sympton.. I told them that my son had been having other symptons ie dizziness, sickness, wobbly legs etc but the consultant said well you need to make a diary about these things, so I got out my notes from the school combined with my notes showing dates and times also when these symptoms were happening. The consultant didn't want to listen to these things they said its probably a food intolerance or irritable bowl...

My son had a heart operation in London at 5 days old and has continued reviews at the Evelina where we always get a fantastic service and people listen!!

I feel we've been fobbed off even though the school and us as parents are saying there is something wrong!!! The consultant has ordered a kidney scan (probably have to wait another 9 wks) and said lets sort this out first... Surely you should look at the overall symptoms and listen to what is being said...

Could you please advise me on how we go about changing the hospital for his care or the consultant?

Very Unhappy...
