"At first I thought the care was ..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

At first I thought the care was rather good, until I found out weeks after discharged that the Doctors and staff did a protocol without my consent.

What could be improved

Staff should of informed me, and explained that they were going to put a protocol into place, then I would of had my say if I wanted it or not.

My treatment is restricted, and I do no wish to agree to a catherter when it isnt needed.

Anything else?

I arrived on CDU due to High blood pressure and ongoing kidney problems. When I finally got a bed I thought I was going to get treatment to reduced the high blood pressure.

Instead I spent days having nurses watch me take my tablets, which I found very uncomfortable, when Im a grown adult.

The kidney problem I have is that I passing heavy amounts of blood in my urine, and Doctors on the ward didnt believe me and wanted a catherter that I didnt need. Eventhough my kidney Doctors in Northampton said the blood is coming from my kidneys. I was very poorly days ago, and MKDOC wanted me to go to CDU, instead they found out I was on a protocol and I had to agree to it before they would admit me. Instead I had to travel miles to Northampton to get treated there, and this is becoming regular problem, where I have to travel miles. I am really disapointed with MKGH especially when they make these decisions without my consent. I will never go there again no matter how ill I am, I rather travel to Northampton
