"More than words programme"

My little boy was referred to a speech and language therapist at 2years old and we were asked if we would like to take part in a programme for parents (more than words). It was to help understand how to get more out of your child in terms of communication and help understand how they think. I am so glad I took part because Anne was fantastic and she helped look at things from a different perspective, different ways in which we could learn how to help max and understand where he was at in terms of socialising, communicating and learning. She helped my little boy's dad understand autism and communication problems and I'm forever grateful with all the help and advice in which she gave us. Also was good to hear other parents talk about their children and know we weren't the only ones going through this. All the parents would give advice and support to each other which was great as they also think of different ways to help in which you might not have though.

I looked forward to going to the class every other week and wish that it had more than 8 classes because I looked forward to going to tell them of my little boy's progress or difficulties which we had experienced throughout the weeks. Also listening to all the other kids progress and being able to offer advice and support to the other parents, the parents in our class are still in contact and we still talk about our children and progress of for opinions and advice of each other.

I would highly recommend this class for parents who have kids with Austin or social communication disorders. Anne gives 110% to More than Words and by the end of the class played a huge part in my little boy's progress. She always had advice for everything we were worried about and always had time for us no matter what. I cannot thank you enough Anne, we appreciate everything you did for my little boy.
