"My two weeks in ward 2z"

About: Peterborough District Hospital

(as the patient),

My first few days were very ok. It was my first time in a hospital apart for giving birth.

However things became very different as a sickness bug hit me and many more, myself and more were left hours in sick bedding, windows wide left wide open to clear smell, no one to ansewer call bell if you had one!

I asked visiting people for a duvet, left cold from being very faint at one point. Duvets seemed in short suppy later in week.

Poor staff were very tired worked long too many hours. I was told only two on some of these shifts. I felt so sorry for those unable to help themselves, thank god the families didn't see their loved ones left for so long.

I was offered gaviscon [terrible wind pain from sickness] at 6 pm, given to me around 9pm, within 20 mins felt a lot better at last, clean and made comfy by midnight, see others go through more of this as week continued short staffed again.
