"I was admitted as a bit of an ..."

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted as a bit of an emergency but was kept reassured and well informed and was very well cared for, with care and attention to help calm my fears. Although I had to be transferred to St James' hospital, Leeds, my out patient follow has also been excellent

What could be improved

Some of the ward staff responsible for giving food and drink to patients did not seem to have a lot of interest in whether or not anyone was actually eating or drinking and some patients waited a long time for help - food would have been cold. I would have liked to have been offered more water to drink but had to 'chase' it!

Anything else?

The doctors and nurses who treated me gave me information, reassurance and excellent care
