"Visit to A&E and gynae ward"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

I went to A&E and had to have an internal exam. There were no lamps for the doctor to use so they had to get a nurse to use their iPhone torch function so that I didn't have to wait any longer than I already had.

I went to the gynae ward and the nurses and doctors that evening were lovely. The staff do a very difficult job and I respect them for that and the work that the NHS does as a whole, even with Jeremy Hunt trying his best to break up the service.

I did have to inform one of the nurses that one of the toilet seats was covered in liquid faeces and had been for several hours.

I had to come back to A&E two days later and they did not even have a sanitary towel to give me. I was given a huge pad which would have served as a sanitary towel for an elephant and told to make do with that. I think that was appalling. No disrespect to the staff, as I said, I'm disgusted at what the government are doing to our beloved NHS so that they can't even provide a decent service.
