"Great orthopaedic staff in Tameside, bar one"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had a 4 night stay at Tameside and an operation to insert a screw in my ankle. I thought the staff were great and my consultant Mr Ebizi fantastic.

There was only one person that ruined my stay and that was a female member of staff - she had previously almost brought me to tears when I had a previous operation to trim up ligaments etc. Not a nice manner.

The rest of the staff were amazing and I'm a total coward when it comes to operations and needles - I should have written in before now but I really do want to say thanks to everybody there.

Thank you for posting these kind comments. I will make sure the staff in the orthopaedic department are aware of them.

I am sorry that your otherwise very positive experience was marred by one individual. Patients and relatives finding themselves in such situations can ask to speak to the nurse in charge or the matron. However, such situations should obviously not arise.
