"Excellent treatment"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Had a total knee replacement in January and from start to finish the experience was excellent. I was well informed at every stage and the theatre staff and the team on ward 15 could not have been more caring and efficient in every way.

I was off to a flying start with my new knee but after a mishap resulting in over flexion it was obvious I developed a problem with extension.

After a call to my consultants secretary they quickly arranged an appointment to see the consultant within 2 weeks. They diagnosed that my patella had become 'stuck' in scar tissue. At that same appointment I was given a date to have a manipulation of the knee, again less than 2 weeks, and had my pre-op, swabs and bloods all done that same day. Terrific service.

I'm just home and again the treatment has been first class. The day surgery unit, the consultants and, as I needed to stay in overnight, all the team on ward 15A who all played their part in my recovery.
