"They genuinely cared for my brother"

About: Ferryfield House

(as a relative),

My brother sadly died in late 2014. The staff could not have been more at tentative to him, my younger sister, my mum and myself.

Fortunately, my brother experienced the last ten months of his life in a safe and peaceful environment. We could not fault the staff and could not have asked for better. They were fantastic and it was such a privilege to have comfort knowing, that our loved one was in safe hands. We got to know the staff very well and we know that they genuinely cared for him and they were always respectful of his needs and dignity.

I still catch myself from time to time thinking ' is my brother really not here anymore' because we take what we have for granted because we are so used to having for so long. Even the word brother makes me feel sad because I no longer have one but what I can say is that it brings tears of joy to my eyes, knowing that he died not feeling scared or unloved. He knew he was safe and he trusted the staff. We knew that he could feel the genuine love that was all around him. We as a family will always be eternally grateful to all the staff at Ferryfield House and we cannot thank you enough for the excellent care you provided. It was such a relief to know that we could rely on you to give the support that he needed. Not only did they provide it, they also did it to a high standard and over and above what was required of them. We had every bit of confidence and no doubt whatsoever that our, only brother, my mums only son, was taken care of and being treated as a human being. They were patient and kind and we will never forget how good you were and we would highly recommend Ferryfield to anyone who might be in a similar position, when they have to let go of a loved one and hand them over to complete strangers to look after, is not easy! However you can rest assure that the staff at Ferryfield House, are more can capable of doing so.

Dear His sister

Thank you so much for sharing such kind words about your brother's experiences whilst he was being cared for in Ferryfield and please accept my condolences to you and your family for your loss.

The staff at Ferryfield will be so pleased to read how you have described them as fantastic, how they gave your brother excellent care and the confidence that you and your family had in the staff to care for your brother at that time.

Thank you again for this lovely feedback.

Kind regards

Jeannette
