"what's the point"

About: Leicester General Hospital

No real support offered by leic general pain mgt clinic. Put on generic pain mgt programme but that's it.

Pain getting worse but consultant said as they work to bio social model, whatever that is, can't offer injections, advice on medication etc. So what is the point of the clinic?

Dear Reviewer,

We are really sorry to hear that you are still suffering and were disappointed with the service provided by the pain management clinic.

Please remember that pain management service looks at options for management of pain rather than finding a cure or diagnosis. You should have received a patient information leaflet detailing these before you visited this clinic. Pain management programme is the gold standard treatment for chronic persistent pain and this runs on the guidelines given by the national British Pain Society.

If you are still not satisfied, you could be offered another appointment with another consultant for a second opionion. If you need this, please contact Dr Jonathan Tring, Lead for Chronic Pain with your name, address, date of birth and hospital number, and we’ll investigate this matter and ensure you are provided with the correct management.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. Your feedback is really important to us and will help us to improve our service.

Kind regards,

Dr Vasu Thanthullu

Consultant - Pain Management
