"A&E Visit"

About: Broomfield Hospital

I visited A&E due to having a foreign object in my ear, which was causing me extreme discomfort and giving me partial hearing loss.

All was going well at first, I was booked in at reception very quickly and was told to take a seat, then within 20 minutes a junior nurse called me.

I was led into a room, where the junior nurse made notes about my problem, I also explained that I only had hearing in one ear, hence my concern about having this object stuck in my good ear.

Once the note taking was finished, I was just told to take a seat, after about 10-15 minutes, the junior nurse who I saw earlier appeared and informed me that there was nothing they could do for me as it was the weekend and there was no one there who could deal with the problem that I had and I was just to go home and wait to be contacted for an appointment for it to be sorted, I was not even seen by a doctor!!

I was obviously upset about this but I find this absolutely disgusting, that I was basically just told to put up with the pain etc.

Such a disgraceful service!
