"Maternity unit"

About: Torbay Hospital

I must say how impressed I was of my daughter's midwife. My daughter had her baby last Wednesday and I had the pleasure to be there. The midwife showed respect and dignity, taking control of the situation. After a long labour, the midwife finished their shift at two but returned at ten to take over from the previous team, taking control, giving us confidence, with theatre looming delivered my beautiful granddaughter. The delivery suite staff were amazing, but this midwife is outstanding. It's a shame that the ward area cannot take the same credit. Non communicative, rude, unhelpful and something needs to change to ensure that new mums get the support they deserve whilst being an inpatient.

Dear Enquirer

Thank you for taking the time to comment following the birth of your beautiful granddaughter.

It is always good to receive feedback; we try to ensure we share examples of good practice and also that we learn from any negative experiences.

Kind regards
