"Rheumatology and occupational health"

About: Warwick Hospital

I went to the rheumatology department at Warwick last year with pain and joint problems. I was seen by a really great consultant who was very compassionate and understanding of my fears. I really felt my views were considered and I was treated with respect and understanding (not patronised in any way). I was given treatment and support is available if I need it. It is important for me to feel in control of my health and treatment and the consultant helped me to do that and did not pressure me into any treatment choices.

I also visited the occupational health department, who I wish I had seen years ago! The person I saw was warm, understanding and very knowledgeable. I felt really well looked after by all.

The only slightly moan I have is a very long wait for blood tests, more than two people taking blood at busy times might help.

All told, the hospital has a quite unique friendly environment.
