"2nd assessment"

About: West London NHS Trust / Gender Identity Clinic

(as the patient),

Obviously I was nervous a little, here I am, female a medical condition, facing a single hour that could shape or halt any positive future I could imagine.

So, as probably expected, sleep was difficult. A mixture of excitement, fear and mild anxiety each taking turns. Exitement won. I arrive 2 hours early, delberately, because for the 1st assessment I made it with minutes to spare - London early morning traffic the cause. Any way, my time keeping meant coffee shops and there are a few outside the clinic. I should have ordered decaf.....Dr Davies saw through the caffiene (I think), made me feel more at ease and comfortable than I could imagine, and accepted me. In the end, the best day of my life so far. I got home and my family (parents and siblings) took me for a meal and fully accepted me for the first time.

Thanks to Dr Davies I feel I had the best day of my life and future is now more positive than I expected.

Thankyou

Thank you for your positive comments which I have sent to Dr Davies and this is his quote;

" I find working at the Gender Identity Clinic very rewarding. We look to try and make a positive impact upon the lives of the patients we see. It is certainly very heartening indeed to hear this feedback from someone I have seen at our service"

Thank you again
