I have twice undergone surgery on the Day care ward at Melton hospital and can honestly say it was like being in a private hospital.
It is spotlessly clean, light & airy, calm and quiet - very relaxing.
The staff are all happy and helpful whilst still managing to carry out the necessary procedures which are not always nice.
If you are given the option of having surgery whilst awake as I was - take it.
The nurses and consultants put me completely at ease, I couldn't feel a thing and obviously as I hadn't undergone a general anaesthetic the recovery time much quicker.
The theater has been cleverly designed so that it is a more relaxing environment and not quite so scary and the theater staff were just plain lovely.
The day ward itself is split into small intimate bays and is very quiet and relaxing - after a cup of coffee and a biscuit and an hours observation I was back at home by late afternoon - perfect .
:-)
Thank you to the staff who looked after me this time - you did a great job :-)
