"Getting a GP appointment"

About: NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I have concerns about my health and I phoned my GP surgery. They told me I would have to wait four and a half weeks for an appointment.

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Good morning

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I am sorry to hear that you have been advised by your GP surgery that you have to wait over 4 weeks for an appointment. However, GPs are responsible for their own appointment systems and I would advise that you raise this with the Practice Manager, who will be able to help. Alternatively, I can pass this on to the Practice Manager on your behalf, if you would like to email details to me at to Lisa.Ramsay@ggc.scot.nhs.uk.

Best wishes

Lisa
