"Who cares?"

About: Prospect Park Hospital

I visited my daughter on Bluebell Ward last Sunday.

On arriving on the ward, I asked for her and was told do not think she is here.

I found that strange as she was on a 72 hour section, so could not be anywhere else!

The member of staff went to the staff room and someone else came out, we followed them, to be told you cannot come in here, they seemed to be more worried about what time they were going home than to advise of us of where to wait.

My daughter is meant to be on 15 minute obs but in all the time we visited this did not happen.

My daughter is a trained nurse and does not like being mentally ill, but the staff here are not doing anything to make her feel any better.

They seem unable to talk to her, but have time to drink tea!

I left this place on Sunday crying as I did not want my daughter to be in a place like that.

Come on Bluebell ward prove me wrong and show some care and compassion.

One last thing, please try and get the noise level down a few decibels, the noise from the snooker balls and loud music was too much for me, let alone the patients.

Hello,

Thank you for your posting and please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. I'm sorry to see that staff were unaware of your daughter's presence on the ward. This must have been very worrying for you. I have shared your feedback with senior staff so that we can improve our service moving forward. Please contact me if you wish to discuss your experiences further. Alternatively, you might like to contact your local Healthwatch organisation for assistance. Contact details can be found on our website www.berkshirehealthcare.nhs.uk

Yours Sincerely,
