"Long wait for and x-ray and rude staff at Russells Hall"

About: Russells Hall Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was sent to russells hall from the out of hours clinic, got to the ward at 4PM was in serious pain, waited one hour to see doctor, he said could be kidney stones, very painful arranged for x-ray and pain medication doctor phoned to arrange x-ray at about 5.15pm tablets one hour later.

In the 2 hours asking how long is the doctor going to be and could I have the medication asked by friend who was with me, I don’t think staff was very happy that he kept asking questions, now we are at 6pm. At 7 asking how long for x-ray, the nurse phoned down there, there were 9 people waiting they were very busy it would be about 1 hour to wait, so now I have waited 2 hours for x-ray.

8pm came and went 9pm came and went, by then night staff were on another doctor spoke I told him I had been waiting over 3 hours for x-ray, he phoned down again another 9 waiting, I asked if I could go down myself he said it was okay, I did ask at 5.30 if i could go down myself they said no. I went down to x-ray myself THERE WAS NOT ONE PERSON WAITING FOR XRAY there should have been 9,

I had my x-ray at 9,30pm, but the porter did go for me when I got there said my name, she said trying to get in touch with the ward for over 1 hour and could not get a porter, she was blaming staff on the ward and the porters for the delay, porter was there when i came out of x-ray, went back to ward.

My friend went to tell nurse I was back. The nurse went nutty at him said that the receptionist phoned saying that he was swearing, rude, abusive and shouting, what a load off rubbish, could not believe it I was asked if this was true I said NO ,if anyone was rude it was the nurse. I was still in pain I was so angry and upset that I had been on that ward and waited 4 hours for an x-ray i did not wait for the results. I went home got home at 10.15. I am making a complaint why shouldn’t I.........
