I had a CT scan for my back in Sept 2009, 2 weeks later the physiotherapist showed me the result of the scan which showed Pars Defect in lower back, fracture. After making a complaint to PALS about the length of time I had been waiting for the results off the consultant and whilst being in excruciating pain, I was given an appointment which was then cancelled by phone 1 hour before I was due to go and whilst I was on my way. It took until December 15th 2009, after making another complaint, before I eventually saw the consultant, who then made me wait half an hour. In the consultation, I found him rude and impatient as I had obviously annoyed him due to me expressing my annoyance at the length of time it took him to see me with the results, by this time I could barely walk. He made arrangements verbally to see me again the first or second week in February 2010 telling me I needed surgery. On the 23rd December I had an appointment come through for the 17th AUGUST 2010 for the outpatients clinic, it is now nearly the end of February. I have since made an official complaint which I was asked to give them more time to investigate, which I agreed to, the said date had gone and I have still not received any correspondance from the trust. I will now be asking my GP to referr me to a different hospital. I am disgusted by the way I have been treated and the long term nerve damage I could be enduring.
