What I liked

I have always found the staff in A and E to be very efficient and pleasant but it is on the actual ward where the problems lie.

The Health Care Assistants on the wards are also very pleasant and hard working.

What could be improved

The communication from the qualified nursing staff who did not keep me informed about anything at all and seemed to resent my questions about my husband's condition and treatment. I was told that certain medication had been prescribed for him but that was merely a list of his exisiting medication.

In spite of prompting by myself (and actually taking the medication into the hospital, the staff failed to give my husband the medication he was already taking, including his inhalers.

Even though my husband had been admitted with very high blood pressure the nurse who was on her round taking observations said that as his chart was missing she couldnt take his blood pressure and left him. This was in spite of the fact that I had told her that the chart was actually in the sister's office.
