"Shocking Level of Cleanliness"

About: Whiston Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

I visited a&e at Whiston hospital recently. I was seen by triage and then moved into examination room 14. Never in my life have I seen anything so disgusting, I thought these rooms are supposed to be cleaned after each patient.

There was dried blood on the floor by the side of the bed, blood smeared on the side table, balls of fluff on the floor, tea/coffee stains on the base of the side table and yet more balls of fluff stuck to the oxygen tank. These things, especially the fluff don't appear in minutes, in my opinion this has been neglected for some time. This is basic hygiene we are talking about and I feel there was a distinct lack of it in this room. No wonder we have so many people catching hospital bugs and superbugs when they can't even get basic hygiene correct. I also have photographic evidence of everything I've listed and would be happy to send you the pictures.
