"Discharged alone, in pyjamas, 2am, in confused state"

About: Southampton General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I had a mental health crisis a year ago. I took an overdose of zopiclone because I wanted to sleep but then apparently panicked and phoned 111 who sent an ambulance. I do regret causing such a fuss and wasting resources. Zopiclone in overdose can cause confusion and memory loss.

I was taken by ambulance to Southampton General, I have no memory for about 12 hours. I vaguely remember being seen by a mental health professional. I remember telling him emphatically that there were no taxis in Lymington(! ) I was clearly still off my face.

I was discharged. I don't remember how I got home but I know I walked from the hospital to the train station alone across Southampton. I left the hospital at 12ish and my train ticket said 2am. I don't know what happened during this time. I'm young and small, anything could have happened. I don't know how I got home in that state, wearing only pyjamas. I would be furious if a friend or relative had been discharged in this state in the middle of the night, especially if there was any question of their state of mind putting them at risk. I'm concerned about this lack of care.
