About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

Went early hours of morning for an MRI can that should have been 20 minutes long for a bad back. Left to wait for 1.5 hours as someone had taken the keys home the night before.l, then someone (an outpatient) was taken in before me. Didn't have cash and no means to get any so couldn't pay parking which would have been inadequate anyway due to wait. Appeal lost for parking fine and now have had a CCJ issued against me....for having a scan for a bad back and struggled to walk long distances due to sciatica....

A parking management system is in place at Macclesfield Hospital in order to help ensure the availability of spaces for visitors and motorists who fail to pay the appropriate tariff for their stay may be issued with a parking charge notice (PCN). It is also important to note that payment for parking at Macclesfield Hospital can be made any time until midnight on the day of a visit and can be done by cash, card or by phone. As a result, payment for parking should not delay bringing a patient into the Accident and Emergency Department in an emergency.
