"Fantastic Treatment"

About: Royal Orthopaedic Hospital

I had a hip replacement on the 22nd March with an epidural. I never felt a thing it was amazing. I started off in HDU for the first 24 hours but I was up for a walk on the afternoon of my operation. The staff here were fantastic. Up on the ward everything went well with the care and physiotherapy. I didn't feel like eating very much so can't comment on the food. The pre operation assessments were thorough each time I attended and on the morning of the operation. From the cleaners to tea staff, nurses etc the attention and care could not be faulted. To have the pain killer on demand was excellent and the nurse working on ward 2 was a dynamo.

I was on enhanced recovery and went home on day four which included the operation day.

The two home visits from the ROC team were brilliant and so helpful, this is a fantastic service. My only gripe is being kept awake at night when the staff talked almost all night, being opposite their desk made sleeping very difficult. I would highly recommend this hospital for this type of surgery.

Dear Alan,

Thanks for your feedback. It is always great to hear when someone has had a good experience. Thanks for your comments about the noise at night. I will pass that onto nursing staff.

With best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sally Xerri-Brooks
