"Patronising Manner"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

I have attended the hearing aid clinic(repairs)on a number of occasions for myself and my mother and found the member of staff to be very patronising, unhelpful and uncaring

I called in to ask for advice for my mother who is in a care home with dementia, the member of staff was extremely unhelpful and said lost hearing aids had to be paid for "not their rules"and to contact The Freeman

Uninterested in any short term help for my mother

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am deeply sorry that a member of staff has spoken to you and your mother in this way, the hearing aid clinic on our premises is provided by The Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, I would like pass your comments to the Newcastle Trust who will be able to address your concerns. With your mothers permission please provide me with her details (d.o.b, address and full name) and I will forward your review to the team involved in her care. My email is Annie.Lavery@nhct.nhs.uk.

Apologies again,

Annie,

Annie Laverty – Director of Patient Experience
