"Mirena insertion went better than I expected"

About: University Hospital Lewisham

I had to have a Mirena IUD removed and a new one inserted, and I was amazed at how much better the whole experience was at the Waldron walk-in Family Planning Clinic in Suite 8 compared my previous visit with a Central London Teaching Hospital. Communication was clear, the staff were experienced and composed, and best of all there was no massive trolley covered with dozens of steel devices in plain view in the examination room. (There was one very small trolley covered with blue paper.) I had to have a general anaesthetic last time in hospital after a first unsuccessful attempt to insert the IUD in the Gynae outpatients so I was amazed to get it all done as an out patient this time. I would definitely get my Mirena IUD done here again. The staff know what they are doing. Worth the wait !!
