(as a carer),

At a meeting today at our home with Adult Social Services, the person for whom I care asked the Social Worker to look in her handbag and take a 'financial' item out. The Social Worker did this willingly, even though the person who is being cared for has dementia - and the visit was specifically made to tell the her that she failed the mental capacity test and therefore did not have any capacity to make decisions for herself. Social Service employees in Sandwell would seem to require training in treating with dignity people with who have dementia
