I just wanted to say thank you to all involved in my recent treatment.
From my GP to the nurse who removed my stitches and everyone in between, all have provided first class service.
I attended my GP in Broughty Ferry regarding a spot on my face. He photographed the damaged area and sent it off the Ninewells. I recieved a letter with an appointment within 2 weeks and a couple of weeks after that I attended the Plastic Surgery Clinic at Ninewells Hospital. I was taken on time and given a thorough examination. It was explained to me that I had a basal cell carcinoma or a rodent ulcer. The treatment was to surgically remove it. I was given details of a site to visit for more information.
I received a call 5 days later offering me a slot at Stracthro hospital the next Friday. I gratefully accepted and was told to attend at 12. 30 on the Friday. I then received calls telling me to delay my arrival until 13. 30 which was great as this would reduce my hanging about time.
The staff at Stracthro were super, friendly and informative. Mr Lambah, my surgeon, came and talked me through the procedure. The number of people involve in the surgery amazed me. To have at least 6 people tied up to ensure my surgery went well was an eye opener and a very humbling experience.
I then attended Ninewells on the following Friday to get my stitches removed. I was taken early and dealt with by a very friendly and efficient nurse. I now have my follow up appointment so thank you NHS Tayside from start to finish my treatment could not have been improved in any way, shape or form.
Our health service get too much bad press it is time all the things that go well were highlighted as much as the ones that do not go quite as well.
Sorry I cannot name all who were involved in my treatment but thank you to every last one of you.
