"Stay with bowel obstruction and Crohn's disease"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

Emergency admission to Bournemouth hospital with severe bowel obstruction.

Stayed in for 8 days in wards 16 and 18.

First time ever in hospital and with young family was a very scary experience. All staff and care was excellent. Very friendly always smiling and supportive. Doctors were great and helpful. I think with all bowel complications all not straight forward and now being treated as outpatient.

The staff in this hospital does an amazing job, they are understaffed and under paid. Yet the still provide outstanding care.

They deserve more as no way I could provide that level of care and that is from the heart.

Dear Stephen

Very sorry to hear you have been suffering from a bowel obstruction and Crohn’s disease this must have been very uncomfortable for you and as you mentioned scary for the whole family.

It is good to hear that during your 8 day stay on the surgical wards you found the care given by the staff was excellent and delivered with a friendly smile, even when they appeared very busy.

I will pass on your kind observations to the Sisters on the wards you mentioned and wish you well with your further outpatient visits.

Best wishes and regards

Sue Mellor
