I have arthritis and current medication is not working so specialist advised would send me for a review for next stage of medication. This was in Feb. I have been waiting for my appointment. I got appointment through 4 weeks later but when got to hospital they advised was blood review. I asked to speak to a nurse who advised have to wait for appointment to come through.
Today I had another blood review and I asked the receptionist if there was any update as waited 8 weeks. There was no information of when the appointment would be.
The nurse who supports with anti tnf treatment over heard. Their shift had finished at 1pm I was there around 2pm they advised would stay longer to start the process for me. They introduced herself and reviewed the documents. Their name had not been copied to the paper work so they were not aware I was to be one of their patients. This nurse spent the next hour going through the treatment expectations and options available. I am so grateful to them for going above and beyond staying 2 extra hours in total and starting process for me. We discussed best time for next appointment a time that suits me was outside their shift but they insisted we can still do it at a time to suit me and they will stay again until they know I am ok! Such a lovely person. By far the best service a person has ever given me in my life. Please get this feedback to this nurse and recognise them for their efforts as outstanding. I think they deserve a reward from their peers. I will be taking a thank you gift to them on our next meeting.
"Thank you nurse."
