"Recovering from Encephalitis what the services have done for me."

About: Ayrshire Central Hospital Dirrans Centre (including rehab)

(as a service user),

In August 2014 I was diagnosed with encephalitis. As you would expect this has had a huge effect on my life. But the services offered by the Dirrans Centre and Ayrshire Central Hospital Occupational therapists. These services have allowed me to recovery both mental and physically. The Dirrans Centre has allowed me get my confidence back with human interaction, proved me morale support as well as improve my physical wellbeing. Ayrshire Central Hospital has been great at improving my morale and improving my physical wellbeing.

Dear Eunice

Thanks for the great words of support, I still have a long way too go. But I feel with the continued level of support I am receiving this will increase my physical and mental health quicker. I cannot stress enough how much these services have helped me and me be the stubborn man only allowed the Dirrans in to help, because I seen them running a football program and I wanted to play football. Stephen and the gang down at the Dirrans have understood my condition, helped me to be more positive and improved my physical activity.

Sorry to take so long to respond to your story but unfortunately I have been ill and off work for the past week.

Thank you for taking time to tell your story and we are delighted that the services we provide at the Dirrans Centre have been helpful to you. I know you thoroughly enjoy playing football with Dynamo Dirrans and this has helped you physically and psychologically.
