Went to Tameside today with a suspected splinter or scratch in my eye , waited only half an hour to be seen by a triage nurse which was great ,, triage nurse asked me which eye it was, they also asked if I'd seen anything in my eye to which I said no. The triage then said that they didn't have any equipment to look in my eye so I would have to go and wait for at least 2 hours to see a doctor. I asked could they at least tell me if it was a scratch or a splinter as I could go back to work if it was just a scratch ,, they said it was pointless as I would need to see the doctor anyway. The triage nurse just wanted me out of the room , no treatment , no diagnoses , zero , a joke of an hospital.
