"The staff were friendly."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff were friendly.

What could be improved

Communication, communication, communication !

Anything else?

same piece of monitoring equipment still faulty since we last had the misfortune to visit in June 2009 ! Perhaps when someone dies it will get fixed.

Equipment on ward faulty and overheard that no budget to replace the faulty blood pressure cuffs!

2 days waiting to see a consultant who never arrived. 1 day waiting for a CT scan that never occurred but was subsequently confirmed for after the weekend. Nursing staff numbers and skill level far below standard on one night.

No information to patient regarding expected time before doctor visit or scan etc. and this has always been the problem in this hospital. I was told by the admin person that I should have made more of a fuss ! Discharged by mutual consent as no treatment would occur over the weekend. Now awaiting an outpatient scan. Despite spending 3 days in A&E I did not cause the hospital to breach the target time through the crafty use of a transit ward. Now I am home, not diagnosed or treated, discharged by mutual consent with the registrar.....but off the inpatients system ! Sort it out WHH please you are failing your customers.
