"Nurse didn't introduce herself"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital

(as the patient),

Went for consultation at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. New specialist nurse came and got me from waiting room and was there during my consultation. At no point did she introduce herself. I feel when you go for any appointment all parties in the room should introduce themselves if they have never met you after all they are privvy to your personal consultation. I know I am not unique and this happens in other departments but it is just not good manners!

Dear Cissy

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your recent experience. I was disappointed to hear that the staff member did not introduce herself at any point during your time at the hospital.

Over the past few months we have been highlighting to staff the importance of introducing themselves to patients, and more recently have supported the National #Hello my name is .... campaign, a national campaign which encourages and reminds healthcare staff about the importance of introductions in healthcare ( for further details please visit http://hellomynameis.org.uk/)

We truly value all the feedback that we receive, and I would like to reassure you that I will be sharing your feedback across NHS Forth Valley, and I will also be using your feedback in staff training, it is important that staff understand the impact our behaviours have, being able to share a patients lived experiences is very powerful.

Kindest regards

Pauline Marland
