About: York Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My mum has been waiting for months to get a date to have an operation to have a previous operation for a colostomy bag reversed, she finally got a date and has geared herself up for it as it involves major surgery! She received a phone call today to say because of the upcoming strikes her appointment has now been cancelled and it could be June before she gets another one!

I know doctors are fighting for what they think is right but I think its disgusting that it is at the expense of the patients, my mum is now debating whether to even have the operation as she's got to gear herself up for it again.

This is in No way directly aimed at York hospital, as I know this is happening everywhere, that just happened to be where she's going!

I would like to add however during mums first procedure the Dr's and staff at York were brilliant, we couldn't fault them at all they did a brilliant job x
