I had breast cancer in 2012. After health issues in March 2016 I was referred for an ultrasound scan to check for ovarian cancer. I received my appointment and the letter informed me if I paid £5 I could have a photo of my baby. Also included was information regarding my pregnancy scan. I am a 50 year old women who has already had cancer and is being fast tracked again. To receive these correspondence regarding my "pregnancy' is upsetting and hugely offensive for a woman in my situation! Surely their must be a simple way of making sure that the reason for scans can be included when staff are making appointments.
It could easily be a younger woman being investigated for ovarian cancer who hasn't had a family as yet, how upsetting would it be for her to receive these correspondences?
"ultrasound scans and cancer"
