Overall care was fairly good on Jade ward. Staff communication was shocking. I once went on day leave, called to say I'd be late back. A member of staff let me back on the ward, I then received a phone call from the ward whilst I was there to ask me to come back. I told them I was there already. My mother then visited and was asked where I was! Night medication round was awful, waiting for hours at a time for meds before you can go to sleep. Staff were dismissive. I was first put into a room on the men's corridor, which had a broken shelf. When I self harmed using a piece of broken shelf the first thing the staff said to me was that it was criminal damage. There were a select few staff members who were lovely and genuinely cared about patients. Some were especially good with patients, making time for one to one contact with patients should hey need it. The doctor seemed to be occupied with making notes rather than properly engaging with me. The only time the doctor engaged with me properly was on the day the doctor discharged me. The doctor told me I'd be discharged to the crisis team. I wasn't. I've then had to chase up who is meant to be dealing with me and prescribing my medication myself.
