"ECAU and C31"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

My son was sent to the ECAU by his GP for review with an infected abscess, the staff there were very efficient and helpful.

It was decided that he needed a minor operation, we waited that day for a slot on the emergency list for theatre but unfortunately they were so busy with more urgent cases we had to come back the next day to C31.

Our time on the ward was only for one day we found the staff very pleasant and helpful.

They made us feel at ease and worked very hard with patients coming and going to theatre all day.

We had to return for dressings over the weekend and all the staff we spoke to were polite and helpful, even offering us some of their chocolates.

A nice touch was the domestic staff offered us a cup of tea while we waited which was gratefully accepted.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is very much appreciated when people take the time to complement our staff and the care they provide and we will pass this on to everyone in ECAU and Ward C31.

We hope your son is now recovering well following his surgery.
