I was under the care of a colorectal service which operated from Circle Reading, however after just over a year of the service being implemented Circle decided to pull the plug and no longer host the NHS service. Although I had my operation before the service ceased I needed to be followed up at least yearly as I have ongoing health problems that will mean my initial colorectal problem will reappear and I am still very symptomatic for what I was treated for. I am now left with no option than to try and find another hospital to care for me, which is proving tricky and does not allow for consistency in my care. Quite simply Circle just want to make money and where a service doesn't do so they pull the plug quickly and replace it with services that do. I would argue that Circle are leaving NHS patients without a vital service for many individuals around such a sensitive issue. I definitely wouldn't return to Circle either as an NHS or Private patient for fears the service I would use would be quickly pulled due to lack of profit. I cannot fault the care I received by nurses and consultants at Circle and it is extremely sad that such a valuable service with such caring and dedicated consultants and nurses has now dissapeared for the community of Reading and outlying areas.
"Don't use this hospital for NHS choose and book..."
