"I fell and hurt my back"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was rushing home last Tuesday evening on foot, cutting through a Car Park in Grantham. Unfortunately I didn't see a raised curbstone close to a gap between cars and fell badly twisting my back in the process. After a few minutes, I managed to get up and basically staggered uphill home about 1. 3 miles away in excruciating pain. After taking painkillers and only able to sleep on my back due to the pain, I eventually went to Grantham Hospital. After examining me, I was given liquid morphene to try and help with the pain, followed by xrays and a further consultation. Luckily, I had not punctured my lungs or damaged my ribs, as breathing shallow was the best I could manage. I was given first class treatment by everyone who dealt with me and was told to rest to get it better as I no doubt had some damage to muscles and tendons in my back. I was given medication for the pain and went home to rest up.
