"Better than expected"

About: Tolworth Hospital / Memory clinic

(as a relative),

My mother visited the Memory clinic for an assessment.

Comfortable waiting area and very helpful and friendly staff. The appointment did start slightly late for which there was no explanation or apology, but the delay wasn't more than 10 mins.

The assessment was easy to understand and carried out professionally and the matter of fact approach was good. The nurse was not patronising. One or two technical terms could have done with explanation (eg 'psychotic depression').

Generally all went better than we would have expected.

Dear Dave 23,

My name is Claire Reid and I am the Senior Patient Experience Co-ordinator for the Trust. Thank you for posting about your mothers appointment and your experience with the Memory Clinic. I am pleased that the staff were friendly and helpful and that the assessment was easy to understand.

I will pass on your comments about there being no explanation for the slight delay to the start of the appointment and that there might be technical terms that require more explanation for the patient and families. I am glad that this appointment went well.

Many Thanks

Claire
