"Two visits to minor injuries unit with family..."

About: South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust

I can't speak more highly of the reception, advice and treatment we received when we turned up at the hospital last week.

We were on holiday in Shipton when my Dad broke his wrist.

We went to the Hospital and we were greeted by the receptionist as if we were a member of their family. The receptionist took our details, told us what would happen, in terms of how long we would have to wait and who we were going to see, and asked us to take a seat.

We were seen within 5 minutes of arriving by a nurse, who, after examining my Dad, advised us to go to either Warwick or Banbury Hospital, as the nurse thought (correctly, as we found out later) he needed an x-Ray because his wrist was broken.

We were given a good explanation of the diagnosis, options for onward treatment and how to get to the hospitals.

Having returned to our holiday home a few hours later, I had to come to the hospital again as my toddler great nephew had been bitten on the face by a family pet.

Again, on arriving at the hospital, the reception was amazing and my great nephew was seen within a couple of minutes of arriving.

The nurse who had seen us earlier in the day, even asked after my Dad!

Having been to several hospitals in the last three years, because of illness in the family, it was refreshing and fantastic to feel that we were being treated like human beings that matter and that are cared about, rather than a number who just needs to be dealt with and moved on through the departments.

If only all hospitals had the same attitude.

Once again, thank you so much for your kindness and attention.
