i took my son to a&e about 12.30am on the 1st of april as he had woke up crying and was unsettled so i knew something was wrong.. after a long wait we were called in to see the doctor who had a attitude like they couldnt be bothered and asked me what was wrong.. i told the doctor how he had been over a 10 day period and i said to the doctor look he doesnt look well so somethings wrong this isnt like him they said what do you mean he doesnt look well he looks upset in a very rude and superior tone. i tried then to soothe my son as he was still crying.. anyhow this ill mannered doctor carried on the 'im better than you attitude', they carried on explained a treatment (exactly the same as what i had been doing for a week and a half) after concluding that his tonsils were sore and my dad who isnt good at explaining himself in english said so ur not going to give any medication for him hes not been sleeping hes not well the doctor veryyy defensively said you want me to give him medication to put him to sleep my dad laughed and said i didnt mean that hes just not well but the doctor just left so i came home at about 4.30/5am i gave my son calpol and tried to calm him down he wouldnt he just kept wanting to lie on my stomach which calmed him down so i let him but even then after 10/15mins of lying down he would awake crying eventually at about 6/7am my mum took him and woke me in the morning (10am) and said he had been the same and only settled to sleep for about 30/40mins. so now i was really annoyed i saw that my son was hot and shakey i gave him lots of fluids while i rang a&e and told them what happened last night and asked if i could speak to the department my son was under but being saturday i couldnt so i took him in again he look a little better but i wanted to get him checked over.. as i walked in another doctor said looking at us in disgust 'this is a&e' i ignored them and when we got in sthe doctor came to me, asking what was wrong i explained everything but the doctor still seemed to disapprove we were there, saying you have a 4hour wait. i just want to emphasis to doctors 'parents know there children best we see them at there good and worst times. a bit of respect when communicating with them means they wont need to come back." eventually i got to see a doctor, such a lovelyperson, i explained what happened yesterday and i told the doctor i was not happy with how i had been treated, the doctor did his bloods checked his fever and got regular obs done. the doctor found he had a increased heart rate of 190 and a high fever of 39.1 so suggested to keep him a few hours as they didnt want to let him go with it that high and kept him to monitior it, once it came down we could go home. I just cannot believe how disrespectful some doctors can be, if i was one of those parents that brought him in for every minor thing i would understand this but he was unwell, i cant however discredit the doctor that did everything they could for me to make me feel relieved & content with their treatment.
